Words Fail Me!

Seriously - what were they thinking?

Ill fitting clothes and those so called "hats" are just a disaster!

Kate's Dress

The other Kate, the one that married her Prince on Friday, has placed herself in fashion history designing a stunning dress alongside Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton.

The stunning dress captured the world's attention and will go down in history as one of the most elegant dresses of all time.

I simply can not fault the dress - it is perfect - perfectly suited to Kate.

See what the world's best designers thought of the dress:

Karl Lagerfeld: “She is very elegant. The dress is classic and goes very well in the Westminster decor. It almost reminds me of (Queen) Elizabeth’s wedding; the Royal weddings in the 50s. The proportion of the train is good. The lace is very pretty. I like the veil a lot,” he said on France 2 television.

Donatella Versace: "Kate's dress was beautiful. She looked very regal."

Christian Lacroix: “I like the dress very much, simpler than expected. A combination just in between the 1956 Grace Kelly and 1947 Queen Elizabeth dress[es]. I love the modest veil with the Queen Mother’s 30s scroll tiara and balanced volume of the whole gown. She’s radiant; she never was so beautiful. And Prince William’s red Irish uniform is gorgeous.”

Viktor & Rolf: “Kate’s dress was simply elegant. Her hair down was a beautiful and natural touch, and the tiara was stunning. She looked as at-ease as humanly possible and was radiant. Our compliments.”

Hubert De Givenchy: “The dress is very simple and very nice. The veil is a little flat, but because she has such a lovely face, she can afford to wear it this way. She is very pretty.” About choosing a dress from McQueen, whose founder committed suicide last year, De Givenchy said: “It’s a lovely thought, a nice tribute.”

Peter Copping of Nina Ricci: “Very much in a royal tradition, reminiscent of Queen Elizabeth’s – and a little bit Grace Kelly. She looks happy, radiant and natural.”

Elie Saab: “It was a very elegant dress, subtly refined and discreet, in keeping with her style. I would have liked it even more with a little extra volume and a longer train.”

Mark Badgley of Badgley Mischka, speaking for himself and James Mischka: "James and I have goose bumps! The dress is perfection and will stand the test of time. It is a classic Grace Kelly look. The skirt is divine. We love the hair down and the veil. The proportion is beautiful."

Alexis Mabille: “Kate’s dress is a classic; very elegant and pure…. It reminds me of Princess Grace’s wedding dress in a modern version with deeper cleavage, the draping at the back in reference to McQueen.”
Ralph Rucci of Chado Ralph Rucci, who noted that the dropped torso and panel construction of the skirt was especially beautiful: "I love it. I'm so glad she went with Sarah Burton, who is brilliant. The dress encompasses all the necessities of the protocal a future Queen should represent. It rings in a youthfulness that reflects the future monarchy."

Its the worlds biggest secret - WHAT IS SHE GOING TO WEAR - & - WHO IS MAKING THE DRESS??

The front runner as the creator of Kate's dress is Phillipa Lepley and is the current bookies fav to be the chosen designer.

I've found a few sketches from some of the world's largest fashion houses for their take on what Kate may decide upon.

Megan and Alex - What A Couple

Megan Gale took to the catwalk with grace and elegance in the latest designs from my favourite designer, Mr Alex Perry.

Megan looked amazing in bright coloured dresses in reds, curacao blue, paprika and blood orange - the colours work and look spectacular.

If there is one thing that Alex Perry can do and does so right everytime - is to make dressess that flatter the female form.

These dresses are sure to feature of the coming months awards season here in OZ and around the world.

Bravo Mr Perry and Ms Gale!

In Memory

Today the world lost another of its group of iconic actors, Ms Elizabeth Taylor.

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond "Liz" Taylor, DBE (February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011) was an English-born American actress.

Beginning as a child star then throughout her adulthood, she became known for her acting talent, glamour and beauty; as well as a much publicised private life, which included eight marriages, several near-death experiences, and decades spent as a social activist, championing the cause of AIDS awareness, prevention and cure.

Taylor, a two-time winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress, was considered one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age.

A truly stylish lady with a big heart and a desire to help find a cure for aids - the world has lost a great woman who is now at peace.

If you have a chance today or tomorrow, log onto this site Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation

R.I.P Ms Taylor

The Trench

Thank goodness for the Trench coat.

Timeless. Elegant. Up For Anything!

Invented by Thomas Burberry (the man behind the famous UK label) in 1901, this chic coat design has stood the test of time — and doesn’t look to be going out of fashion any time soon.

Wear it buttoned up over a mini dress with boots in winter or casually open over jeans in spring.

Choose monochromatic colours such as black, brown or cream for longer-lasting style.

Jessica Simpson Does Shoes!

Ooooo - I lurve shoes!!

And apparently so does Jessica Simpson.

So who would have known that she (well someone has) has been able to put together a few good pairs in her line of shoes aptly named Jessica Simpson Collection.

I really don't like it when "celebrities" intrude in areas that they should leave alone -  eg Madonna & Movies, Paris Hilton & Singing, Bjork & Fashion - I think it makes it harder for the people that know and exceed in these areas to make a bigger impact in the fashion world.

But getting back to Jess and her shoes - I'm impressed - so much in fact I've gone to find them in person and they are really good looking shoes.

It also came as a surprise to me the large amount of goods she has on her website jessicasimpsoncollection. Its huge and the products on offer are good if not great!

She is currently estimated to have pulled in over $100million from her collection in 2010!! Not bad for a girl that got famous for asking if Chicken from the Sea was really chicken!

So here I have put together a few of my favourites - keep an eye out in your local fashion boutiques to have a look and try on the shoes - like me - you will be surprised!
